Team AMSOIL Adds Ice Oval Racer
Evans Mills, N.Y. ~ AMSOIL recently signed a sponsorship agreement with professional oval ice racer Jason Smith. Smith races in the Eastern Pro Tour of snowmobile ice oval racing, which covers the eastern United States and Canada.
"Everyone that's part of this team is really excited with our new partnership with AMSOIL for the upcoming race season,” said Smith. “We are coming off our most successful year and have a lot of momentum coming into the race season. With a new 2006 John Hooper crafted Arctic Cat, a very determined driver, and a well-prepared team, the upcoming season is taking shape to be very exciting.”
Smith comes from a racing family. His father raced snowmobiles for many years, and his grandfather owned a shop that built race cars for modified drivers. The 21-year-old New Yorker has been racing for five years, capturing 13-podium finishes along the way. Smith was voted most improved driver in 2005, finishing third in the Semi-Pro and eighth in the Pro division.
