Lovell Rock Racing Wins Supercrawl IV
Las Vegas, Nev. ~ AMSOIL-sponsored Lovell Rock Racing of Colorado Springs, CO., ended their championship season by winning the biggest competition of the year, Supercrawl IV. The team drove their Ford Ranger to a difficult win in Las Vegas, beating 35 modified competitors through nine courses.
After being disqualified from the first course for rolling the Ranger off the course, the team found themselves frustrated and well out of first place. “I was really nervous, and Roger could not get me calmed down,” said driver Brad Lovell. The Lovell Brothers finished the day in eighth place with 53 points.
Day two greeted the brothers with the Toyo Terror, an intimidating 18-foot wall with an angle exceeding 80 degrees. Incredibly, Brad made a run at climbing the wall four times, even bouncing off it once, but landing on the wheels. On his fifth effort, Lovell perched his Ranger on top of the wall. “The fifth time I knew how the truck would react. We had flow.”
In the end, Lovell Rock Racing took home the Supercrawl Cup by a wide margin and spent the next four days on the same course for the UROC All Star event during the SEMA show. Fellow Team AMSOIL members and Pro Arena Truck Racing team Autumn Woods Racing was on hand to check out the action. Autumn Woods Drivers Jeff and Chris Mosher took Lovell’s Ranger for a spin on the rocks. View Photos
