"AMSOIL Super Team"
Superior, Wis. ~ AMSOIL INC. will be making
a huge splash in the competitive world of Championship Off Road Racing
in 2005. The leading synthetic lubricant company has recently formed
the AMSOIL "Super Team." The trio, which consists of long-time
AMSOIL drivers Steve McCrossan, Dan "The Flying Dutchman"
Vanden Heuvel and Mike Oberg, will be known as the AMSOIL/Kumho Tire
Team for the next three years.
"This is an exciting time for AMSOIL," said
AMSOIL Racing Coordinator Jeremy Meyer. "These three guys are hard-chargers
and know how to push their trucks to the edge. AMSOIL wanted a bigger
showing in the CORR Series, and you will see it in 2005."
The AMSOIL OFFROAD SUPER TEAM consisting of Steve McCrossan
(#33) in Pro 4, Dan Vanden Heuvel (#77) in Pro 2, and Mike Oberg (#280)
in Sportsman 2 will begin its assault in the world renown Championship
Off Road Racing Series (CORR) at Lake Odess, Mich. on May 21 and 22,
2005.
"Its great to be part of the AMSOIL team,"
said McCrossan. "We have been die hard AMSOIL supporters and have
used AMSOIL products in our racing program for years. We were finding
zero wear on our parts using AMSOIL. This is truly amazing because off
road racing has to be the most punishing, brutal test on a vehicles
drive train."
Dan "The Flying Dutchman" Vanden Heuvel will
also be pushing his well-known #77 to the limits this year. Vanden Heuvel
is a fan favorite in the Pro-2 class.
"I am very excited to be part of the AMSOIL "Super
Team," said Vanden Heuvel. "Along with Kumho tires, and the
building of a new pro-2 spec race truck, I am confident that I will
be a front-runner and will be after the pro-2 points championship."
Mike Oberg and his Mike Oberg Motor Sports crew will
be the AMSOIL representative in the Sportsman 2 class. Oberg is a crowd
favorite each time his tires touch the track because of his kamikaze
racing style.
"We at Mike Oberg Motor Sports are ecstatic with having AMSOIL
increase their support of our team," said Oberg. "We have
already proven that AMSOIL has the best products on the market. We ran
the same exact engine the last two seasons without even having to change
the bearings."
