Crandon, Wis. ~ It’s been nearly a decade since AMSOIL/Kumho Super Team member Scott Douglas has won a Pro-4 race at the famed Crandon International Raceway in Crandon, Wis., but the 10-time world champion returned to the winner’s circle in a big way on Labor Day weekend.

Douglas, who joined the Super Team this past winter, destroyed the competition in the four-wheel driver Pro-4 class on Saturday, winning a World Championship ring in the process.  The El Cajon, Calif. driver backed up his impressive win with a weekend sweep of the class on Sunday.  Then, to prove to the world that he is still one of the top drivers in off-road racing, Douglas won the prestigious BorgWarner Shootout, the sport’s biggest race.

"It's nice to be back on top and this is a powerful win and statement by our team", said Douglas.  "It has taken plenty of hard work by my crew and sponsors and they need to share in this win.  We couldn’t be happier to be representing AMSOIL with such a great product.  We were running some high engine temps on Saturday and it’s unbelievable how much that oil saved me.”

Douglas also continued his dominance in the Pro-2 class at Crandon.  With more than 40,000 people lining the hillside at the “Super Bowl” of off-road truck racing, Douglas took a third place finish on Saturday and a second on Sunday.  No other driver has ever been as dominant as the AMSOIL driver was this past weekend.

“This is going to take a few days to sink in,” said Jeremy Meyer, race coordinator for AMSOIL.  “Scott put AMSOIL at the top of the off-road racing world this past weekend.  He has been a great representative for AMSOIL, and what he did this weekend was unprecedented.”

Douglas, who has won three of the past four sanctioned Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) events, now moves into sole possession of third place in the series points race.  Douglas is only 19 points behind leader Johnny Greaves with only four races left.  The championship battle will continue September 23-24 in Chula Vista, Calif.
