Team Lovell Returns From Back to Back Events
2400 miles by land and 4000 by air

Team Lovell has just returned from rockcrawling adventures stretching from northern California to central Mexico. First up was the final stop in the 2006 WE-Rock Series at Donner Ski Ranch located near scenic Lake Tahoe.

The Lovell brothers were pushed to the limit battling one of their greatest rivals, Dean Bulloch, for the entire event. The strain was clear as the team needed to match Bulloch’s clean run on course B2. Anticipation grew as the FABTECH Ford Ranger edged closer to the 10 foot undercut drop.  Ranger plummeted to the ground and a miscalculation caused a slow cartwheel to the right. When the dust cleared the vehicle lay on its side and the team made the quick decision to try and right it manually. The fans went wild as the brothers pushed the Ranger upright and finished the course with seconds to spare. While not desirable, the roll didn’t cost the team any points and they remained in contention for the lead.

After two days of such efforts, the Lovells were tied with Bulloch for the lead with only the final round to go. The Ranger again lined up for decent over a horrific cliff and again, luck was not with the team. “We had some difficulty with the drops this weekend,” commented Roger, “You get one try at a drop, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don’t.” The finals resulted in the Ranger hopelessly stuck on its roof and in 2nd Place. In a display of sportsmanship, and to the crowds delight, the team would continue through the final course. “We are happy to be in 2nd and wanted to make sure the spectators went home fulfilled.”

After returning home, Brad and Roger would immediately depart for scenic Guanajuato, Mexico. The colonial city played host to the inaugural UROC Mexico event and the team was invited as special guests. “My only wish is that we could have brought the Ranger,” said Brad, “Everyone has so much energy and was interested in the sport and our team. We met some very ambitious Mexican teams.”  While the promotional energy was high, the competition may have seemed slow paced by US standards. This seemed to be a product of the Mexican culture as the teams clearly made a thrilling impression on fans and passers-by alike. “We had a great time with great hosts and plan to return for next years event.”

Don’t miss team Lovell at the UROC series finals Sept. 30th in Farmington, NM where they hope to again be crowned season champions.
