“Rinker Continues Dominance”
Team AMSOIL wins fourth straight ChampBoat race
St. Louis, Mo. ~ Team AMSOIL ChampBoat driver Terry Rinker had a historical day of racing in St. Louis this past weekend. Rinker, the defending series champion, won his fourth straight race to start the 2006 season. The win was Rinker’s second career victory in St. Louis and tied the all-time consecutive winning streak by a driver.
Rinker was able to take the pole for Sunday’s race after a strong day of qualifying on Saturday. Rinker’s 12th career victory moved the Tampa, Fla. native ahead of the second place driver by 239 points as the eight race season reaches its half way point.
“This was an important day for us,” said Rinker. “Winning here in St. Louis for the second time makes it real gratifying. We got the job done and never missed a step in the rough conditions on the lake.”
The next event on the 2006 ChampBoat Grand Prix Series calendar will be in Kankakee, Ill. on Labor Day weekend during the annual Kankakee River Roar with race day scheduled for Monday, September 4.
