Eckstrom Takes Third in Pro Stock at Canterbury

Shakopee, Minn. ~ Team AMSOIL/Scheuring Speed Sports snocross rider D.J. Eckstrom landed squarely on the podium again this weekend. Eckstrom rode his Polaris IQ sled to a third place finish in the World PowerSports Association Pro Stock class at Canterbury Downs in Shakopee, Minn.

“For the last five years the Canterbury track has been a jinx to us,” said team owner Steve Scheuring.  “Our finishes this year were the best in a long time at this track so hopefully the Canterbury Curse is finally leaving.”

Eckstrom took ninth in the Pro Open class, while Team AMSOIL teammate Carl “Showtime” Schubitzke finished 11th in Pro Open and eighth in Pro Stock. Eckstrom is in second place in the overall points race in the Pro Open class and fourth in Pro Stock. Schubitzke sits in 10th in Pro Open and is tied for ninth in Pro Stock.

“D.J. just doesn’t stop,” said AMSOIL Racing Coordinator Jeremy Meyer. “He and Carl work hard on and off the track and it shows. You’d be hard-pressed to find a guy more consistent than D.J.”

Look for Team AMSOIL at Park X in Hill City January 21 and 22 for the Polaris Park X National.
