Duluth, MN – The Proctor Speedway is proud to announce that AMSOIL, Inc. has come on board as the title sponsor for the 2nd Annual Twin Ports Twin 25s, scheduled for Sunday August 6, 2006. AMSOIL, headquartered in Superior, Wis., has a long history of supporting local area stock car racing.
Crash Carlson, President of The Proctor Speedway, called the partnership “a natural match”. “AMSOIL has been a driving force in the successful Late Model Racing Series in our region for many years. Through no fault of theirs, this series was forced on hiatus this year. This race gives the racers and AMSOIL an opportunity to continue their relationship.”

The Twin 25s are the brainstorm of local race enthusiast Dr. Troy Powers. Troy was familiar with the concept of two feature races in the same night with an inversion taking place following the first feature. The Speedway took Troy’s concept and paired it with one of the most lucrative one day purses in the WISSOTA racing sanction, resulting in a immediate hit for local racers and fans. Thirteen drivers took home purse winnings in excess of $1000 at last year’s event.
“This year’s edition of The AMSOIL Twin Ports Twin 25s takes place in the middle of an amazing stretch of racing in our area,” stated Carlson. “We’re proud that our event will feature and benefit the local racers who are the lifeblood of racing in our area.” The WISSOTA sanctioned Late Model event will also be supported by Midwest Modifieds and Pure Stocks.
