AMSOIL Late Model Series Opens Monday
Pre-Race Party Kicks Off Season

Superior, Wis. ~ The AMSOIL Late Model Series will return to action on Monday, May 21 at the Superior Speedway.  The six-race series enters its eighth season of late model racing, bringing in more than 80 of the top late model drivers from the Midwest and Canada.  Superior Speedway will also be hosting Super Stocks and Modified’s on Monday night.

AMSOIL will kick off the 2007 season with a fan Pre-Race Party starting at 5:00 p.m. in front of the grandstand.  AMSOIL will be giving prizes away and fans will get a chance to meet Snocross team owner Steve Scheuring and World Champion off-road truck driver Mike Oberg.  Oberg will also bring his 800 horsepower off-road racing truck out on the track for the pace lap.

 “AMSOIL is always looking to improve the series, both on and off the track,” said Jeremy Meyer, AMSOIL Racing Coordinator.  “The pre-party is a chance for us to say thank you to everyone who has supported AMSOIL, Inc. and our race teams over the years.”

Pat Doar of New Richmond, Wis. won the last AMSOIL Late Model Series in 2005.  It was the first AMSOIL championship for the AMSOIL sponsored driver.  The series will run under WISSOTA rules.  AMSOIL is the title sponsor and Official Oil of WISSOTA and the AMSOIL Dirt Track Series.

AMSOIL will be working with media partner Fox 21.  AMSOIL will also be adding new sponsors to help improve the end of the year purse, including Superior Beverage, The Shack, Hannula & Halom, Didrickson Construction, Black Bear Casino, Ashland Ford and Ton Clusiau’s Motors.
