CANADIAN WORLD FINALS A SUCCESS Calgary-On a straight-line course in Calgary, Jon Zimmer and Kristy Edge proved that Sudden Impact Racing can get it done regardless of where they perform. Two shows in two days meant plenty of work and is rough on equipment, but Chris “Panda” Ryan diligently worked away on both AMSOIL Shock Therapy and AMSOIL Excaliber. At the end of two big shows, there was no breakage to report on either truck.
Edge returned to racing and performed just a couple hours from where she lives. She didn’t disappoint, making big, clean runs in freestyle that included hits on both buses.
“I was proud of Kristy and how she did,” said Zimmer. “We want to make sure we can get her driving here for 2010!”
Zimmer did a dual freestyle run with Jimmy Creten’s Bounty Hunter on night one, then came out with both barrels blazing on night two. A huge hit on a van stack, great momentum, and constant action were Zimmer’s trademark moves, per usual.
“I felt like I had a really good run going there, and I got shut off in mid-air. I wish they would have let me keep going, but I gave the fans, and hopefully AMSOIL, what they want.”
From Calgary, the team heads to their shop in Michigan, then out to a big show in Red Bluff, California.
