AMSOIL Snoblast Event Helps Northland Residents
American Red Cross Accepts Check For Disaster Relief
November 29, 2001: A check for $1,218.00
was presented today to the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The money was raised at the first AMSOIL Snoblast event held at Black
Woods restaurant in Proctor, MN. Kevin Peterson, Development Director
for the Northland American Red Cross, thanked all those that participated
in the event for the generous donation. The money will be used for
local disaster assistance, health and safety programs, and service
to area military families, said Peterson. Joining Peterson to accept
the check was Area Director Bill Beasley.
Snoblast was set for the first night
of the Duluth National Snocross. The postponement of the races put
a damper on the turnout, but it didnt diminish the enthusiasm of those
race fans that joined in the fun. AMSOIL/Scheuring Speed Sports snocross
riders DJ Eckstrom and Justin Tate signed autographs. Judnick Motorsports
Matt Judnick joined Team AMSOIL riders Jeremy Gulbranson and Bobby
LePage to meet fans.
All proceeds from a silent auction and
donations at the door went to the Red Cross. Snoblast-goers were treated
to food provided by Bill Blackwood and Black Woods restaurant. A Disc
Jockey provided by Big KAT KTCO 98.9 kept things lively on the dance
floor. A special thanks goes out to Steve Scheuring, Scott Judnick
and the World Snowmobile Association for their contributions to the
auction.
Snoblast is set for next year and will
again happen in conjunction with the Duluth National Snocross. Plans
are underway to make the party bigger and better. There will again
be an auction, music, racers, food and fun.
