December 5, 2002:
A check for $1,139.00 was presented today to Operation
Rudolph for the purchasing of toys and other items
for needy families. The money was raised at the
second AMSOIL "Snoblast" event held
at Black Woods restaurant in Proctor, Minn. Friday,
November 29. Mark Mallory from KBJR-TV accepted
the check on behalf of Operation Rudolph and thanked
all those that participated in the event for the
generous donation. "Last year we looked at
helping following the events of September 11.
This year we wanted to directly help area children
during this holiday season and perhaps put some
smiles on a few little faces," said John
Schuldt AMSOIL Racing Coordinator. Operation Rudolph
is a joint project of KTCO Kat Country 98.9, a
"Snoblast" partner, and News 6.
"Snoblast"
was held to coincide with the first night of the
Duluth National Snocross. Team AMSOIL/ Scheuring
Speed Sports snocross riders DJ Eckstrom and Justin
Tate signed autographs and items for the auction.
AMSOIL supported riders Bobby LePage and Pete
Hammer were also on hand.
All money raised
from a silent auction and admission at the door
went to Operation Rudolph. "Snoblast"-goers
enjoyed food provided by Bill Blackwood and Black
Woods restaurant. A Disc Jockey from Big KAT KTCO
98.9 kept things lively on the dance floor. A
special thanks goes out to Team AMSOIL owner Steve
Scheuring and the World Snowmobile Association
for their contributions to the auction.
