AMSOIL/Polaris/Scheuring Team Makes Rider Change

Team Looks to Carry Momentum in '04-'05 With Polaris Rider Schubitzke

April 14, 2004 ~ Carl Schubitzke has agreed to a one-year deal to ride next season for AMSOIL/Polaris/Scheuring Speed Sports. Schubitzke is a veteran snocross rider for Polaris.

Schubitzke moves over from the Polaris factory team to join D.J. Eckstrom to form what might be called the, "Dynamic Duluth Duo." The two riders have been friends and competitors in snocross and motocross for many years having come from essentially the same city. "What an awesome opportunity," said Schubitzke. Team owner Steve Scheuring called Schubitzke a "natural" addition.

Schubitzke's last World Snowmobile Association snocross victory came at Canterbury Downs in 2002. He missed last season due to a fractured wrist. Eckstrom is the 2004 Super Snocross Stadium Tour indoor snocross champion. This season he finished third in WSA Pro Open and had 10 total podium finishes. Polaris recently agreed to an additional three-year sponsorship, solidifying the team. "Carl has all the tools now to complement his skills. He and D.J. will make a formidable duo," according to John Schuldt, AMSOIL Racing Manager.
