Eckstrom
Continues March To Podium
Team AMSOIL Rider Makes
It Four Events in a Row
Shawano, WI ~ AMSOIL/Polaris/Scheuring
Speed Sports driver DJ Eckstrom has made standing
on the podium habit. Considered one of the
best snocross pilots in the world, Eckstrom
stood on the podium for the fourth consecutive
time this season with a second place Pro Open
finish at the Menominee Casino Superstars
of Snocross.
The Duluth, MN native has
a pair of seconds and two third places in
the World Snowmobile Association World Snocross
Championship and shoots for his elusive first
win when he races at Canterbury Downs in Shakopee,
MN January 9-11. Eckstrom also finished fourth
in the Pro Stock final at Shawano.
Justin Tate finished seventh
in Pro Open and sixth in Pro Stock. The talented
driver ran up front with the leaders all weekend.
Due to a lack of snow, the course was smaller
than typical making it difficult to pass bringing
slower, lap traffic into play. Eckstrom and
Tate did finish first and second respectively
in a special, non-points "Dash for Cash"
to start the weekend.
Eckstrom is second overall
in SWC Pro Open points and fourth in the very
tightly packed Pro Stock class. Tate, from
Forest Lake, MN, remains in the hunt. He's
currently eighth in Pro Open standings and
seventh in Pro Stock through four rounds.
AMSOIL riders also showed
their strength in Semi-Pro action. Colin Chaschuck
on an Arctic Cat finished second in the AMSOIL
Semi-Pro Stock final. Polaris' Bobby LePage
finished ninth in Semi Pro Open while Billy
Waldoch was 11th in AMSOIL Semi-Pro Stock
and 12th in Semi Pro Open on a Ski-Doo.
The WSA moves to the Twin
Cities area for round five and the Polaris
Canterbury Snocross. For more information
