Eckstrom Moves Into First Place

Team AMSOIL Rider Posts Fifth WSA Podium Finish

Valcourt, Quebec ~ DJ Eckstrom is gaining the title of Mr. Consistency. The AMSOIL/ Polaris/ Scheuring Speed Sports driver is first in overall World Snowmobile Association Pro Open points. Eckstrom earned his fifth podium finish in six 2004 Snowmobile World Championship events with a second place at the Grand Prix de Valcourt this weekend. With all his achievements this is the first time Eckstrom has stood alone on top of the WSA Pro Open standings.

AMSOIL teammate Justin Tate was consistent himself with finishes of fourth in the Pro Stock and fourth in Pro Open. Eckstrom followed up his Pro Open performance with a 10th in Pro Stock. Tate is now fifth overall in Pro Open and ninth in Pro Stock. Eckstrom is sixth in Pro Stock.

Eckstrom and Tate had been on a roll going into the WSA round six. Eckstrom is first overall in Pro Open (Mod) for the Super Snocross Stadium Tour coming off a double second place finish at the Silverdome in Pontiac, MI a week ago. Tate placed second in Pro Open (Mod) and fourth in Pro 440 Stock.

AMSOIL-supported racer Ross Martin won the AMSOIL Semi-Pro Stock class and was runner up in Semi-Pro Open. Martin leads the overall Semi-Pro Stock class. AMSOIL riders Billy Waldoch and Ryan Kern made both the Semi-Pro finals. Colin Chaschuk was eighth in Semi-Pro Stock
