By-Pass Oil Filter Installations

2002 Toyota Sequoia
AMSOIL Dual Remote By-Pass Filter System
Submitted by AMSOIL Preferred Customer Gill Sendon

I recently purchased a BMK-13 dual filtration kit to install on my 2002 Toyota Sequoia. I decided to install this under the battery tray for ease and accessibility, and this seemed to be the shortest route from the original filter location. I used the BMK-13 kit along with by-pass filter BE-90 and a full flow filter SDF-15. Assembly of the kit was pretty straight forward per instruction and all the accessories included. The only optional fittings I needed were 2-45° elbows and 2-90° elbows as shown in the pictures below. Now the total capacity of oil in the Sequoia is 8 quarts up from 6.5 qt, the additional 1.5 qt is from using the SDF-15 which holds almost a quart and the remaining goes to BE-90 by-pass and hoses. After completion of my installation, I started the engine and there were no leaks found. I took a test drive and the oil pressure gauge remained consistent at cruising speed just like before. The install took about two hours.
