This by-pass installation has been in service for about 2 years and the AMS-Oiler about 1 year. Filter assembly must be removed from vehicle to change the element.
Photo 1: Shows installation of main AMS-Oiler™ unit on firewall. Unit was sound and vibration insulated with rubberized undercoating spray. Routing of hose also shown. Bottom of main unit does not touch the fender or firewall.

Photo 3: Side view of installation. Make sure the supply line for the by-pass unit stays clear of the belt. Small pieces of heater hose are strapped in strategic places to prevent chafing. Sampling valve is covered by aluminum foil to keep it clean.
Photo 4: (view from under the vehicle) shows origin of AMS-Oiler supply line at an oil port near the base of the oil filter. This port is accessed by removing a large setscrew-type plug. An aftermarket adapter (Sunpro) was used to match the threads. This adapter is designed for installation of oil pressure switches. It comes in an assortment called "Metric Adapter Kit" stock # CP7573.
