AMSOIL Dual
Remote By-Pass Filter (BMK-13)
Submitted by AMSOIL Dealer Larry C. Hansford
There is not enough room in the engine
compartment to mount the Dual Remote By-Pass Filter (BMK-13) with
the V8 engine, but there is a natural location on the front right
frame rail, right behind the radiator. There is a bolt hole with a
nut welded to the inside of the rail, which takes a 10mm X 150 bolt. (Photo 1)
I took a piece of 4"x4" angle
iron, 4" long and drilled one leg to fit the bolt hole in the
frame, and drilled the other leg to fit the 4 holes in the filter
mount bracket, and bolted this to the frame after painting it. (Photo

I then mounted the filter mount on this bracket, and connected the
hoses to it. (Photo 3)
The filter adapter was installed, and
the other end of the hoses were connected to it. (Photo 4)
The hoses run down under the radiator,
along the sway bar, between the filter mount and the filter adapter. (Photo 5)
The final step was filling the filters
with oil, and installing on the mount. (Photo 6) I selected
the SDF-15 and BE-90 filters, rather than larger filters, since larger
filters would have extended down below the bumper of the vehicle.
