“This was an important day for us,” said Rinker. “Winning here in St. Louis for the second time makes it real gratifying. We got the job done and never missed a step in the rough conditions on the lake.”

Windham Returns To Podium
Team AMSOIL rider grabs pair of three
Binghamton, N.Y. ~ Team AMSOIL motocross rider Kevin Windham has put together two solid weekends of racing in August. The Louisiana native posted a third place podium finish in Millville, Minn. two weekends ago and followed that third place overall finish with two third place finishes in upstate New York last weekend.
Windham, who is currently tied with Chad Reed for second in the series points race, had one of his stronger performances of the season at the Broome-Tioga track in Binghamton, N.Y.
“I have to give credit to the team,” said Windham. “I’ve really been struggling, and feeling kind of down on my rides. We made some changes to the bike, on the suspension, and it made a huge difference. I was able to put the bike wherever I wanted it.”
The AMSOIL/Factory Connection team will be back racing on the AMA Outdoor Nationals circuit in two weeks when the series heads to Delmont, Pa. and the Steel City Raceway. The AMA Outdoor Nationals is televised on OLN.

Dubé, a former series champion, finished fifth in the MX 1 class after placing in the top 10 in 13 moto’s this season. At the series finale, Dubé finished 17th overall after a DNF in his second moto. The veteran rider was banged up after a hard crash during the second run on Saturday.

Team AMSOIL Late Model driver just misses win on national television
Brownstown, Ind. ~ Team AMSOIL late model driver Brady Smith just missed winning his first nationally televised race over the weekend. Smith, a Solon Springs, Wis. native, finished second at the Jackson 100 at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Ind. on Saturday night.
With the Speed Channel cameras rolling for a future airdate, Smith rolled his AMSOIL backed Chevy Monte Carlo to a win in his heat race. In the 100-lap feature, “The Deuce” pushed his late model set-up to the runner-up spot. In his first ever Jackson 100 start, Smith just missed taking the checkered flag, finishing second to Don O’Neal by less than one car length.
Smith also raced at Brownstown on Friday night with a $2,000 to win unsanctioned event. Smith finished third in his heat race on the ¼ mile, semi-banked oval. He wound up 12th in the final rundown. Smith was also eligible for a special non-winners race on Friday night, which featured drivers who had never won a feature at the racetrack. Smith ended up second in that event.
Smith will be taking part in the three-day, Scorcher 100 starting Tuesday, August 22 at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn. Smith will also be racing this weekend at the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Ky. on Saturday night.
