Autumn Woods Driver Makes Winning Run
Tough Truck team boasts two in top ten
Springfield, Mo. ~ Not even the wet weather could dampen Team AMSOIL driver Ricky Brantley’s second weekend of driving for Autumn Woods Racing. The rain-soaked weather challenged all of the competitors at last weekend’s 4-Wheel Jamboree in Springfield, Mo.
Saturday’s qualifying was done on a wet course, which offered slick corners to Brantley and teammate Jeff Dedick. Despite the mud, Dedick took the number one qualifying time, with Brantley in third.
On Sunday, the clouds parted and it was Brantley’s time to shine. The first year Autumn Woods’ driver dominated his head-to-head races, storming through the brackets. He landed in the finals against Lionel Easler and came out victorious. Dedick, meanwhile, lost his 4-wheel drive during one of his races and was sent home early for the day. Autumn Woods Racing will be in action again at the Lima, Ohio event May 19 and 20.
#2 Car on the Road Again
Spring tune-up swings into summer heat
Attica, Ohio ~ After a weekend off to ready their equipment for the busy month of May, the Brady Smith Racing Team will log some miles this weekend to compete in a pair of dirt late model events. The Solon Springs, Wis. based team will invade the famed Knoxville Raceway this Friday, for a World Dirt Racing League (WDRL) Series event. Smith was the 2004 WDRL Champion and Rookie of the Year.
The team will then drive overnight to compete in a NARA Late Model Dirt Series event at the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tenn. on Saturday. A full slate of qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and the 50-lap, $10,000 to win A-Main is on tap at the track known as the “Taz.”
Smith is currently 12th in the latest version of the NARA point standings and is second in the Rookie of the Year battle heading into Saturday night’s race at the ultra-fast, 1/4-mile Volunteer State oval.
AMSOIL Returns As Official ChampBoat Oil For 2006!
Savannah, Ga. – The ChampBoat Series, North America’s premiere series for speed and excitement on the water, has formally announced that AMSOIL INC. will once again be the official oil of the ChampBoat Grand Prix Series.
“We are extremely excited to have AMSOIL step up its partnership with the ChampBoat Grand Prix Series. It demonstrates their commitment to premium performance and value just like AMSOIL products,” stated Mike Schriefer of the ChampBoat Series.
The announcement came at a gala celebration in conjunction with the ChampBoat Series concluding event in Savannah, Georgia at the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort last Friday. Series champion driver Terry Rinker of Tampa, Florida was on hand in his Rinker/AMSOIL sponsored boat giving demonstration laps for the large media turnout on the Savannah River for November’s season finale announcement.
“We love AMSOIL products and the performance gains were significant towards our 2005 championship,” stated Rinker. “We couldn’t have a better sponsor partner than AMSOIL, and I’m excited about working with them as we march toward hopefully another title in 2006.”
“AMSOIL has a perfect relationship with ChampBoat,” said AMSOIL Race Coordinator Jeremy Meyer. “First, we have had the top driver two of the past three years in Terry Rinker. His drive in and out of the boat is a great match for AMSOIL. Secondly, and certainly not least, AMSOIL is proud to partner up as the Official Oil of ChampBoat again this season. The sport is the ideal proving ground for our products. ChampBoat is also growing and we are excited to be part of that growth.”
AMSOIL Adds USMTS As Official Oil For 2006
Superior, Wis. – Officials from the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) revealed today that AMSOIL – the world leader in synthetic motor oils and lubricants – has been named the “Official Oil of the USMTS” as part of a new marketing partnership between the two automotive and motorsports icons.
“We are extremely pleased to announce AMSOIL as a new major marketing partner to our network of corporate supporters,” said O’Reilly USMTS Communications Director Jeff Nun. “Our relationship with AMSOIL is further evidence of AMSOIL’s commitment to motorsports, and helps the O’Reilly USMTS uphold our pledge to give racers and fans the most competitive and exciting racing show on dirt.”
In addition to contributing to the season-ending O’Reilly USMTS point’s fund, AMSOIL will also sponsor the newly created AMSOIL Lap Leader Award. As such, AMSOIL will award $1,000 to the O’Reilly USMTS driver who leads the most “A” main laps during the rugged 2006 racing season.
“AMSOIL continues to outpace the competition,” said AMSOIL Race Coordinator, Jeremy Meyer. “The USMTS showcases some of the best modified racers in the world. This relationship with the USMTS as the official oil bolsters the AMSOIL reputation that it is committed to America's dirt tracks, its racers and its fans.”
AMSOIL products will be available pit-side to USMTS drivers at several events during the 2006 season. AMSOIL is already track-tested with the Series, however, as Kelly Shryock used AMSOIL to help carry him to his seventh straight O’Reilly USMTS national championship in 2005.
