PowerSports Snowmobile Tour Inks
Doubleheader Races For 2006-2007
Canterbury and Eagle River to host pro snocross racing twin bills

White Bear Lake, Minn. — The WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour will showcase two Double National races for its Professional classes during the 2006-2007 season. The Air Force Canterbury Snocross (Jan. 12-14, 2007) and the Eagle River National Snocross (Feb. 23-25, 2007) will feature two complete Pro Open and Pro Stock events with separate points for each race.

The double races will run during the race weekend with a full bill of qualifying and racing for each event. Semi-Pro and Amateur Classes will run a single event during the weekends. The announcement brings the total number of Pro events on the 2006-2007 slate to 10, along with the special non-points Winter X Games 11, scheduled for Jan 25-28 at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen Snowmass, Colo.

The Tour will make its inaugural visit to the AMSOIL Eagle River Derby Track this year. The venue, located in Eagle River, Wis., will feature one of the Tour's longest track layouts, which will be built on both the traditional Snocross track and atop the permanent ice oval.

The Air Force Canterbury Snocross, a traditional event for the PowerSports Snowmobile Tour, will take place at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn.

Canterbury Park has a long and storied partnership with the PowerSports Snowmobile Tour and is an ideal venue for a Double National, said Scott O'Malley, PowerSports Entertainment, Inc. president. It's an exciting track that features some of the biggest jumps on the Tour, and its location makes it a favorite among our teams and our fans, alike.

Eagle River has traditionally been a hotbed for snowmobile racing, and we're looking forward to bringing our brand of Snocross racing to its permanent facility, continued O'Malley. The Eagle River track layout will certainly be one for the record books.

Race registration is open now. Online registration is available at www.PowerSportsTour.com.

The first race on the 2006-2007 WPSA PowerSports Snowmobile Tour season is scheduled for Nov. 24-26, 2006 with the AMSOIL Duluth National at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minn.
