“Rinker Rolls to Fifth Straight”
Team AMSOIL driver dominates World Championships\

Kankakee, Ill. ~ Team AMSOIL ChampBoat driver Terry Rinker made history again after dominating the field at the Greater Chicagoland Grand Prix in Kankakee, Ill.  Rinker, the defending series champion, won his fifth straight race to start the 2006 season. The win was Rinker’s 13th career ChampBoat victory and broke the all-time consecutive winning streak by a driver.

The AMSOIL sponsored boat took advantage of race leader Shaun Torrente’s expired engine when Torrente’s boat left the race before the 22nd lap, much to the disbelief of the Rinker.

“We just let Shaun take off and lead the event and didn’t worry too much about it since he has struggled finishing all season long,” said Rinker. “We now have the record but we aren’t going to stop.  We’re hoping to make it a perfect season before it is all over.”

With the victory, Rinker now has 2942 points and is 329 points ahead of his nearest challenger with two races to go in the season. The next stop on the 2006 ChampBoat Grand Prix Series will be in downtown Hartford, Conn. on the 23rd and 24th of September on the Connecticut River.
