February 11, 2004 (GNCC press release)
Morgantown, WV The AMA Amateur National Motocross
Championships at Loretta Lynns draws the best riders in the
country. It also draws the best sponsors too, as Air Nautiques, Amsoil
and Maxxis will provide unprecedented support for amateur and youth
motocross racing this season through their relationship with MX Sports
and the Loretta Lynns program.
Were fortunate to have the backing of
fine companies like Air Nautiques, Amsoil and Maxxis, says MX
Sports Director Tim Cotter. Our three-year relationship with
an outside-the-industry sponsor like Air Nautiques, one of the worlds
premier powerboat makers, has had a major impact on our sport. Now
Amsoil and Maxxis will step into the MX Sports program and push the
event even higher.
Were very happy to be associated with
MX Sports, the AMA Amateur Nationals at Loretta Lynns and the
sport of motocross, said Air Nautiques Marketing Director
Scott Mohr. We promote family activities with our boats, and
so does motocross.
For 2004 Amsoil becomes the presenting sponsor of
the MX Sports program. Weve always worked at the grass
roots level of racing, says Amsoil Racing Manager John Schuldt.
Its an excellent fit with us because weve been looking
for this kind of opportunity for some time. Joining the MX Sports
program gives us a great chance to meet the next generation of riders
and parents.
As the new tire sponsor of the MX Sports program,
Maxxis has proven they are committed to the amateur motocross market.
Maxxis has been involved with amateur riders for the past several
years, says Maxxis Motorsports Manager Thad Josey. The
AMA Amateur Motocross Nationals at Loretta Lynns are an exceptional
opportunity for us to maintain a solid relationship with these riders
as well as support one of the largest amateur sporting events in the
world.
Air Nautique, Amsoil and Maxxis will have a presence
at the AMA Amateur National Championships at Loretta Lynns,
which run August 2-7, 2004, as well as the Area Qualifiers and Regional
Championships which determine the final national field.
The AMA Air Nautiques Amateur National Motocross Championships
presented by Amsoil is the worlds largest amateur motocross
race. Over 19,000 entries will attempt to qualify in 33 classes for
the event, which takes place on August 2-7, 2004, at Loretta Lynns
Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Winning an AMA Amateur National
