Road Racer wins with AMSOIL

Jeff Penick of Salem, Oregon clinched two championships in the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs race at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Wash (October 6, 2005). Penick won seven races in Improved Touring C and clinched the title in August as one other driver competed in the class. In I Production, Penick spread four class wins across three tracks, Portland Internatioinal Raceway, Spokane Raceway Park, and Mission Raceway Park in Mission, B.C., Canada. It was the second year in a row Penick won both championships in his 1984 Honda Civic he has been racing since 1996.

Jeff Penick has been road racing a Honda Prelude and then a Civic for 15 years winning 6 championships in the last four years running in two separate classes. His current motor has three season of double race groups and still has excellent compression. Jeff said, "I took apart the motor after one season when I first switched to AMSOIL and realized the bearings, rings, and camshaft showed no wear. Why rebuild it each year if there is no wear and great compression?" Thanks to the advice of AMSOIL Dealers Ed Greenwood and Dan Judy Automotive, Jeff switched his street '90 Honda Accord to AMSOIL when purchased new in 1990, sold the car in 2001 with 333,000 miles and the engine had never been apart.
