2002 Racing Notes
Bob Weber won his third feature race of the
season at Lancaster Motorsports Park. He did battle with for
nearly the entire race with another points contender, Mark
Pennell. At the checkered flag though, it was Bob Weber by
a car length for the win. Bob is the current points leader
at Lancaster with a ten point lead over Pennell. Photo's are
shown above (click on the small photos for larger images).
The first is a shot of Bob and part of the crew during autograph
night at the track. The fans lined up for autographs. They
really like him. The second shot is from victory lane as he
is interviewed by one of the track announcers. Bobs' wife
is also in the shot at the right facing the camera.
On the Race of Champions Qualifying Trail, Wyoming County
International speedway, near Perry, NY, was the site for the
next Race of Champions qualifier. Art Clark, who celebrated
50 years of racing the previous night, won the feature in
a new Late model race car. Art had an impressive win in the
nearly 90 degree heat. Photo's will be sent to you soon. Art
is now a guaranteed starter in the Late Model race at Oswego,
NY on September 21, 2002.
The busiest portion of the qualifying trail is upon us. Friday,
7/5/02, we are at Tioga speedway, near Binghamton, NY. Sunday,
7/702 we are at Adirondack Speedway. This track is new and
a .99 mile tri-oval. They have a 30 car count for most races
