If you are trying to cool down your twin cam, for the summer... I advise you to run a thicker weight of oil.... I've been doing this for years and my bike has rarely been over 250°f I maintain my motorcycle at operating temperature 230°f .. But we all know that with traffic and lights, the bikes can over heat... This 60w has been absolutely a game changer for me... I've tried just about every brand out there and amsoil hands down beats them all...
1 key thing is that you definitely do not want to over fill with a thicker weight, your oil pressure at first will jump up 20-30 psi more.. When cold
2006 Buell Ulysses, gotta put the best in it! Amazing what an awesome quality oil will do for your bike. Spend the extra money and treat your machine. It will take care of you! Order the same time every year and its always shipped fast, even in this liberal economy! Thanks Amsoil!!!
I switched to AMS oil 20w50 in my 2015 Harley Davidson FLHR because both types of OEM Oils, synthetic and petroleum based, wouldn’t hold up. After 3000-4000km of hiway use I’d be down 1/2-3/4 of a litre. Bike had 25000km on it at the time. Proper break in. Leak down test proved engine was fine ect. The OEM oil just evaporated. I’ve used AMS Oil products on/off since 1979 so I gave it a try in my HD with immediate satisfaction. I change oil between 8000-10000km depending on my season or trips and add nothing between changes. Maybe down 1-2 cups of oil. It stands up. I have 140,000km on now(spring of 2022). I’ve have some friends experience the same with their Harleys. AMS Oil 10w40 is going in my Suzuki VStrom prior to my 12000km round trip to northern Alaska and back. Good stuff.
Excited to put this oil to the test in my 04 Harley sportster 1200.

I had a engine Inspection done on my 2005 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic at sixty thousand miles. The mechanic enquired on what type of oil I used after the inspection. I told him I used the Amsoil 20w 50 for v twins. He said it would probably pay for me to stay with this product that my engine looked new.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I’ve been using Amsoil for my 2016 Indian Chieftain. This oil maintains its viscosity as witnessed when my old oil is being changed out. Also, I like that this is a synthetic oil vs. the semi-synthetic blend from the OEM. Keep up the high quality Amsoil!
The dealership for the Indian Chief 2022, offers an oil change kit with 5.5 quarts and filter for the same price as Amsoil 6 quarts of full Syntectic. Dealership oil is a Synthetic blend - plus the bike uses 6 quarts - you end up buying an extra quart just to get the level right. Some people call Dealership - Stealership.
I'm glad I took care of my 500-mile break-in - with Amsoil full Syntectic
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Good Oil

Have been using AMSOIL in my vehicles for decades. Great oils and fast shipping. When I order it I usually get it the next day.
2014 Indian Chief Vintage, first time using AMSOIL was fresh oil change at 35K, preparing for cross country trip did another oil change at 39K, only 4 thousand miles later. 500 miles into cross country trip clutch was completely burned out. Got to an Indian dealership who inspected clutch and all plates were completely burned out. Dealer said they has never seen that before. Installed new clutch and dealer recommended oil. Continued road trip 7200 miles without any further issues. Still running AMSOIL in two Harleys, will continue and see how the Harley's do. Initially loved the AMSOIL but now unsure if I will use it in the Indian again.
