Oil is the blood of your car's engine. I you are like me, you want the very best products for your car. I do all my own maintenance and I am always looking towards technology to help keep my cars running as well as possible. At first I was skeptical about using an oil that was not specifically recommended for my car from the manufacture. But when I read all of the comparisons between Amsoil and all the other synthetic oils, I thought I would give it a try. That was the best decision that I have ever made. My car runs smooth, the spark plugs look clean, and I actually save money by the longer oil change intervals. Something that I didn't expect was the improved MPG that resulted as well! I now use Amsoil in all my cars and I couldn't be happier.
234000 miles on my 2004 r32.Used amsoil from the first oil change.Still burns zero oil.Great stuff!
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I have a 1998 BMW 5 series with 325,000 km, currently. I change the oil every 10,000 km. This is my 5th BMW, and the only one that doesn't leak or burn oil. I just changed the valve cover gasket a couple of months ago, otherwise this is pretty much bone stock original. It is garaged all the time when not being driven. This car even does lapping days at Mosport International Raceway, now known unfortunately as Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. I don't even need to top up after a hot run full throttle redline. I can't say it's all because of the oil, but it certainly didn't hurt.
My 2003 Passat V-6 station wagon idled rather roughly from the very beginning. The dealership said it was "all within specification" and offered no suggestion as to what might help smooth things out. I tried injection cleaner, octane booster, new plugs, all to no avail. I eventually tried using AMSOIL 5W-40 (the recommended formulation for my engine...) and was surprised at the smoothness of the idle as well as the added pep in acceleration. I've never looked back. Now, at 100K miles I swear by this formulation, change every 5000 miles, and burn less than a quart between changes. To be fair, changing to an oil impregnated air filter also gave my engine better air flow, which never hurts. I love everything about my Passat (it's still in great shape...) so I'm indebted to AMSOIL for smoothing out that rough idle and helping to improve the overall performance.
have used Amsoil for years, with modified big marine and small tubo auto enignes . the engines ran quite and longer than i ever expected. i am using this european formula oil in a 06 vw gti, originally 200 crank HP. i have installed a bigger turbo on it now it pushing 350whp. i am at 93000 miles with these mods and their are no leaking seals and runs as good as the day i bought it. the internal parts are very clean and wear is very low. i have used this oil every oil change since i bought the car.
I change my oil every 7500 miles. I enjoy getting Amsoil delivered right to my garage door and getting my hands dirty every few months. Saves me 1/2 the cost on all my oil changes (and I like and trust my mechanic). The European Formula gives me the protection my higher milage (120k) BMW needs.
