I’ve been using Amsoil for my 2016 Indian Chieftain. This oil maintains its viscosity as witnessed when my old oil is being changed out. Also, I like that this is a synthetic oil vs. the semi-synthetic blend from the OEM. Keep up the high quality Amsoil!
The dealership for the Indian Chief 2022, offers an oil change kit with 5.5 quarts and filter for the same price as Amsoil 6 quarts of full Syntectic. Dealership oil is a Synthetic blend - plus the bike uses 6 quarts - you end up buying an extra quart just to get the level right. Some people call Dealership - Stealership.
I'm glad I took care of my 500-mile break-in - with Amsoil full Syntectic
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Have been using AMSOIL in my vehicles for decades. Great oils and fast shipping. When I order it I usually get it the next day.
2014 Indian Chief Vintage, first time using AMSOIL was fresh oil change at 35K, preparing for cross country trip did another oil change at 39K, only 4 thousand miles later. 500 miles into cross country trip clutch was completely burned out. Got to an Indian dealership who inspected clutch and all plates were completely burned out. Dealer said they has never seen that before. Installed new clutch and dealer recommended oil. Continued road trip 7200 miles without any further issues. Still running AMSOIL in two Harleys, will continue and see how the Harley's do. Initially loved the AMSOIL but now unsure if I will use it in the Indian again.
V Twin for primary and motor. Even after riding hard back and forth from Orlando to Sarasota and back to Orlando same day. Oil pressure stays stable also seems to be a bit quieter than harley oil. Also run 80/90 Synthetic gear oil in trans. To me anything that has gear in it deserves dedicated gear oil especially in Florida. Shifts more consistent and quiater even after 300 miles than 20/50 motor oil. Your bike Your decision. My decision is amsoil. Be Safe

I ride a Chief Classic,
I have always done my own oil service and used Indian oil because of warranty purposes. The bike always averaged 41, to 42 miles per gallon. Making the switch to Amsoil V-twin oil, that average has consistently been 47.9 miles per gallon ever since. That says to me that Amsoil is far superior and has much better lubricity, and in turn, cause my engine to not have to work as hard. I'm not an oil chemist by any means. The Indian oil is a semi synthetic and Amsoil is a full synthetic. That is all I know but the proof is in the pudding as they say, or in the proven mileage improvement.
