I have used this protector on many of my vehicles. I have taken them to Moab, UT. Chicago, IL., Northern Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, New Jersey...etc. and the protectant works well overall. I would tell you to check it once in a while and touch up if you feel it is required. It have save me a lot of money from possible corrosion.

Isn’t it funny how some of the coldest states in America get by just fine without covering their roads in salt? They use sand and it works perfectly. The best part about sand is it doesn’t cause anew truck to rust into oblivion 5 years later. Fortunately, for drivers in Wisconsin, our state dumps copious amounts of salt on our roads 6 months out of the year! I bought my Ram 1500 classic brand new in 2019, and every year before the first snow I coat the underside of my truck in MP HD. 5 winters later the underside of my truck still looks brand new. (I’m not exaggerating) Not a spec of corrosion, not even surface rust. All of the factory paint remains perfect preserved from the frame rails to the floor pans to the trailer hitch. My only suggestion to Amsoil, please offer a non-aerosol version so I can use my own sprayer. Sometimes trying to spray at an angle or upside down under the truck can be frustrating with the aerosol cans. Sell me a quart or gallon of the product and I’ll use my own sprayer for an easier more thorough application.

I could not be happier with how this product applied and then dried. The underside of my 2016 F150 looks 100% better. Friends and coworkers noticed so I purchased a second case for gifts or as a thank-you. Every person I gave two or three cans to is thrilled with how their trucks came out.

Love this stuff !! I spray it on everything underneath. Pickups, trailers, quad axle. Keeps the Wisconsin salt at bay ! Better than tar undercoating because it's a soft wax like coating you can work with. I freshen the coating every year and my 2011 Chevy 2600 HD has no rust ! Awesome protectant !!

Amsoil’s Heavy Duty Metal Protector simply works. I’ve used it on outdoor equipment, yard decorations, and especially on vehicle undercarriage components. Always a good idea to surface prep first. Highly recommend!

Effective.

I sprayed the heavy-duty metal protection on our son's swing set two years ago. The waxy coating is still visible, the chains and hinges aren't rusting, and I can't imagine a better product for outdoor metal.

So far this does the job. Great on my pin box and other metal. Would highly recommend this stuff.

I absolutely love this product. Definitely don’t put it anywhere where you don’t want to see it. It has to be hand scrubbed to get it off if you get some on your vehicle paint or things like that. That being said it definitely sticks and last for long periods of time. The only bad I have to say. Is every can I have used the nozzle has leaked.

What can I say about this. Nothing bad. It used to be labeled, but not branded as "Motorcycle Chain Lube" in addition to heavy duty metal protector. I can see how this could work well for a motorcycle chain. This dries out to a waxy consistency, like "clean grease". I use it for garage door tracks, things like that. You spray it on and it does not move much. Dries and you are good to go. I have used it on some old car seat spring assemblies as well, and think that the automakers used something like this for that and seat tracks which I have done as well. Can't remember the name now, but remember that it is very similar to the stuff the military used to use to store any kind of metal weapon, long term. Starts with a C. This MP HD stuff I believe is the same.

As anyone who lives in New England knows, winters mean salty roads. This product does a good job of holding the salt and resulting rust at bay. My truck has plowed and been driven in every snow storm since 2005 and is holding up remarkably well. Certainly not rust free but it is in far better shape than most its age and mileage (almost 300k) due in large part to MP hd. I have used other products during the life of this truck but this one stands up the best.

I purchased this to use as a undercoating on my 2017 Tundra. It leaves a very nice finish on the metal. Very pleased with it.

I live in the northeast and winter is hard on vehicles, I use this product as an undercoating on my truck, it applies clear on metal, like the frame of the truck, seems to have a great shield against the salt and dirt on the roads

This stuff has worked better than anything else I've used in the past 12 years. Just a little spritz on adjustment screws or linkages once or twice a year works wonders!

Purchased this as an alternative to another product I have used for some time. The MPhd covers better and, more importantly, has staying power. finish is very durable so far.

The only two cans of these I've ever used ran out of aerosol. One was half full and the other about a quarter full in 3-4 weeks from first use. That being said, I still bought two more cans because I like this stuff. Other brands you spray and the product only sticks where you spray it, this stuff comes out in a liquid form and finds its way to all the crack and crevices where it later dries completely or to a tacky feel depending on how much you use making it great for automotive use.

Just started using HD Metal Protector & it’s hands down better than what I’ve been using, can see the coating still on bare metal & no rust!
