    60w V Twin synthetic
By  Anonymous,  a  Verified Buyer  from  South Carolina  on  September 20, 2020
I got this oil to use in the summer months. From June to September in South Carolina the ambient air temp. can be 85 to 100 degrees. HD says to run straight 60 for ambient temps. over 80 degree. I believe this will help the oil temp. stay around 230 degrees thusly making a happier M8!
    Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

    Totally Impressed
By  Jack,  a  Verified Buyer  from  Pasadena, Ca  on  September 20, 2020
Was getting ready to do a top-end on my 65 Pan, wrenches in hand, when I checked the Net to see if anyone had come up with 60W synthetic. The Pan smoked a bit and ran poorly when hot. I ordered some AMSOIL 60W and received it in one day. Emptied and flushed the oil system with about a quart, then filled it with the usual 4 quarts. Now I still need to do a top-end someday, but for now, the Pan is running superb. No smoking, higher oil pressure, running cooler and smoother and easy starting. I didn't expect this much improvement.
    Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

    Will use nothing else
By  Rckpile,  a  Verified Buyer  from  89706  on  September 17, 2020
I have been using Amsoil for over 10 years now, I have put it in no less than seven of my friends motorcycles they all keep coming back for me to change their oil with Amsoil. Myself and almost everyone of them report a 15 -20 degree drop in operating temperature, In my book anytime you can do that on an air cooled V-Twin Harley do it. Also not one of my friends has had an internal mechanical problem I will continue to use and recommend this product to anybody that listens, keep up the good work Amsoil your product in my opinion is light years ahead of the competition !!!
    Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

    Best for air-cooled V-twins
By  Boomer,  a  Verified Buyer  from  Virginia  on  September 16, 2020
This is all I've ever used in my Harley Sportster XL883. I have an original Harley-Davidson thermometer oil tank drain cap/dipstick which I've tested for accuracy by putting it into boiling water, so I know it is good. All I have to do to check the engine oil temperature is slide back on my seat a few inches and look straight down. I always check the temperature right after getting off the interstate because this is my maximum temperature condition and it has never gone over 220 degrees F. The rest of the time, the operating temperature at speeds less than 60 mph never exceeds 200 degrees F. These temperatures are lower than most of the Sportster riders on all of the Harley forums. The bike always starts with no problems in the winter when I ride in temperatures in the 50's. My bike has a carb and all I have to do is use the choke to start it and let it warm up until I see my dipstick reach 100 degrees F. Once underway, no problems. My XL883 has lower gears than the big twins and runs at higher rpm's, and it has never used any oil in its 10K mile oil change intervals. I also use this in my primary - again, different from the big twins - and the transmission never misses a gear when shifting (straight cut gears), nor does the clutch slip or "chirp" on take-off. Yes, the familiar "clunk" is there when putting it into first gear but that's a Harley signature for some reason. I've never tried another brand of V-twin oil because I haven't needed to. I recommend this very highly.
    Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

    2016 Indian Springfield
By  Mitch W.,  a  Verified Buyer  from  Mississippi  on  September 16, 2020
I had a '16 Springfield for a while and totaled it hitting a deer at 70mph. I bought a new to me '16 Springfield with only 6k miles on it that had always had Indian oil and filter. I changed it for the AMSOIL and everything is quieter and smoother. Didn't realize how much of a difference it really made until riding a few thousand miles on the old oil and switching.
    Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
