The results of oil testing show me less wear than subaru oil, or name-brand 5w-20 suggested in my mechanic circles for modified/performance engines that run 0w-20 in a warm climate. My oil tests show significant wear and oxidation protection package and significantly less wear than "stock" oil or aftermarket "performance" oils I have used.

I have been on the Amsoil team for a year and a half. It definitely makes you car run smoother than ever before. However, I do recommend changing filters half-way between oil changes.

The oil does not have that acrid burnt smell when I change it at 5K miles like the other brands that I have used. Time will tell how well it protects the inner workings of the engine timing chains bearings etc.

I started using 0W-20 Ams SS on my 2.5L 3 at 67,000 but have switched to this when I realized that the manual only recommended it for USA & a few of it's eco-fanatic territories. Other countries (like Mexico) said that you "must" use 5W-30 in the non-turbo engine. I just got a turbo -- and there are no dual standards for oil -- and this is what I use in it.
