My hydros have always had a slight whine to them. Amsoil gear oil has made the whine go away. Found excessive water/moisture in drive motors on a hunch I thought what about an oil change in non-serviceable drives. Called AMS oil techs and asked if SAE 10-50 could replace SAE 10. Lever controls are very responsive in fwd and rev compared to Mobil1 15W40 or other equivalent oil specified to be used in hydrostatic equipment.
